Rubin, who told us he was the chief of the village near the Lelepa Island anchorage, suggested this snorkel site to us. Lelepa Tours (see Lelepa Island anchorage for more info) maintains a mooring buoy here that you can tie the dinghy to. They use this mooring to take day guests to who visit his island during weekdays. It's in a protected cove, southwest of the anchorage. Outside of this cove, there is a large, detached rock which is a useful landmark and there is good snorkeling around this rock too! The fish are tame near the mooring since they're used to being fed and the hard corals are beautiful. It is very pleasant swimming (in prevailing winds) in this protected cove and you can head southward around the point to the next cove which is also pretty. It too has a mooring to tie to, although the reef below isn't quite as extensive.
