Bottom Type Sand

Salerno is one of the gateway towns for the famous Amalfi Coast. You could make a nighttime approach if necessary. The anchorage, off a beach, gradually shoals toward shore and holding is good in sandy mud, approx 13 feet. Open to the South. Remember that you need to stay 200 meters off beaches in Italy. There is a coast guard station here. Provisions are available close by and there is good bus & train service. There are several marinas nearby. A good place to put the dinghy is behind the breakwater to the right of the beach, along the promenade. By the way, there is a long, wide, promenade to walk or bike on.You can easily take a bus or ferry to Amalfi, Positano, etc. and leave the boat here where it has better protection in the anchorage.
