In front of town, near the dock where bancas take off to go to the underground river. Once at the sand bar of the river, you will be taken in another boat on the river itself. We had to really pull strongly on the anchor for it to really dig well in the very dense sandy bottom. Good we did because we experienced a quick rain storm with 20kts of wind coming from the sea twice and thus boats turned 360 deg. We did not drag and did not get too close to any of the numerous bancas anchored around us for the night. Rocky shore very near the beach so best to keep dinghy attached to small floating pier next to the dock when going ashore. Mini-vans to Puerto Princessa take just under 2 hours and cost 200P. Regular underground river tour can be purchased at the Sabang pier River office but you might have to book a day earlier if the number of tourists has been reached for the day. Regular tours run about 45min and cost about 750P/pers once all the different fees are added. Special 4-hour covering over double of the river distance can be booked at the office in PP only. Cost is about 4,000P for permit for up to 4 pers + 250P/pers environmental fee/pers + 1,100P for up to 6 pax to go to the river entrance. Best value is to be a group of 4. You cannot use your own dinghy to go to river entrance and you cannot anchor your boat there anymore as it is a marine protected area!
