This protected anchorage (in all but south winds) lies between two very beautiful islands in the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park- Rangitoto and Motutapu. Very good holding in mud, approximately 20 feet give or take, depending on how far you proceed toward the head of the bay. Tourist ferries from Auckland come & go from the wharf at the head of the bay. This wharf can be used to tie the dinghy for pleasant walks ashore on a wide range of trails that explore both islands.
