Medana Bay is a small marina on the
north coast of Lombok, one of very few in Indonesia. There are a few
berths and several moorings in a generally protected bay between the
reefs. Because this area is open to the north, a northerly wind or
swell can be uncomfortable or dangerous for the boats. Ashore, there
is a restaurant, laundry service, a hotel, fuel, water and staff to
assist with booking tours, flights or transportation. The marina
rents mopeds. Transportation is needed for reprovisioning in
Sengiggi, which is about 30 minutes away by car. Local produce can be obtained in a small town closer to the marina but it is still a horse buggy or moped ride away. Area attractions are
a waterfall, Mt Rinjani, & the Gili Islands are close by. You can
also anchor outside the moored boats.
