Hakata Fishing Port is conveniently located close to Fukuoka City. The
port and adjoining park area appear to be going through a clean up the
last time we visited. Expect visitors and inquisitive questions as the
park is well patronised and international cruising boats are a rarity. Ã?Â?horikÃ?Â?en
Park Subway station is within easy walking distance and the city centre
is only a 40 minute walk away. The berth is a concrete dock wall.
There is an undercut at tides less than 0.5 metre that can cause issues
with fenders. Some wake is felt from boats entering the port, however
we were not adversely effected. A Max-Valu supermarket is one street
away and 7-Eleven is opposite the Park. Duty free diesel can be
delivered by tanker to the dock. We use Mr Kan on ph: 09073927666. His
English isn�t the best. Allow 2 days for processing. What you order
is what you have to take. No more or no less. The fuel is supplied to
the operator at the duty free price and can not be returned. It is
roughly a 30-40 % saving on pump price. Fukuoka is a city that has a
lot to offer and always a fun stop. A must for us is the Hakata Ramen
Shop close to the Port.
