At ICW mile marker 461, just before getting to Charleston if southbound, there is a good anchorage in Inlet Creek just off the ICW long enough for several boats. There is a soft, narrow shoal at the entrance of approx 6 feet that doesn't cause a grounding. Both times for us it just made the depth sounder show shallow depths for a couple of seconds. Then it immediately deepens to 12-16 feet, good holding. There are so see-ums but otherwise a really pleasant anchorage and allows a quick exit out the Charleston inlet or easy trip into the city harbor.
