The anchorage in just off the mouth of Free School Creek. It is protected on all sides except SW. Holding is good in mud. At the entrance to Free School Creek there is a state landing with a dock which is good for landing a dinghy and walking a dog. The anchorage is near Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown, Busch Gardens, and Water Country.
