Anchorage Facts

Bottom Type Sand

Koh Lipe is another one of Thailand's busy tourist islands offering many places to stay & restaurants for all budgets. It has lovely white beaches and a "walking street" full of opportunities for massages, gifts and snacks. There are a few reefs around for snorkeling and the water is clear and pretty.

Anchorage here is 40-80 feet or more, depending on how many boats got there before you! There are commercial mooring buoys and a floating ferry pontoon on the eastern side of the harbor so best to anchor on the west side, keeping an eye on the reef edge & rocks that come out from shore.

There is another anchorage on the opposite side of the island but we haven't visited it so there is no marker!

Features
  • There are check-in facilities here primarily for ferry boat passengers. It is unclear whether yachts can fully check in here.
  • 7/11 type stores
