This marina is the place to go if you want to be front & center in Santa Cruz which is a great city. The starting point for the Atlantic Odyssey rallies, it is busy in Oct/Nov but we still got a space for as long as we wanted. On approach, radio Santa Cruz Port Control on VHF12 to get permission to enter the commercial port because the marina is at the far end of the port and you can get a good look at offshore oil rigs as you pass. Then radio the marina on Ch9 for assistance. There are finger piers and the marina is very protected. Access to the city is easy- take the green bridge right next to the marina office. Lots of things to do in town and with a car, you can do much more including hike in the Anaga Mountains which are what make the great view from the marina. Good bus service. We took the bus to the airport to rent a good priced car. For provisioning, the local Hiperdino supermarket will deliver to the marina- inquire at the office.
