This is a good stopover anchorage before or after crossing the Yellow Banks. It's not far from Porgee Rock. It offers good protection because of Rose island and a few rocks and smaller islands that surround it. Approach is either through the Porgee and Chub Rocks Channel and then follow the southern shoreline of Rose Island or just coming in from the south between Porgee Rock and Periwinkle Rocks using Navionics charts- we didn't see anything less than 10 feet. Good light necessary. Holding is god in sand. We didn't go ashore. But we heard peacocks calling! And a few excursion boats from Sandy Toes Resort passed by, which is located on the island near the anchorage.
