Anchorage Facts
Bottom Type Sand

Don't know the history of the name, but surely it isn't good! This anchorage lies between Little & Great Stirrup Cays and can be a good stopover if you're on your way somewhere. Approach is easy and the shallowest we saw was 9 feet. Stay in the middle through the opening and then choose your depth once inside to anchor in sand in about 10-12 feet. This anchorage is quite uncomfortable in N or NE winds even if tucked around the corner of Great Stirrup!
There is nothing to do here. We tried to walk to the lighthouse on Great Stirrup but were asked to leave by security as the island is private for the cruise ships,  as is Little Stirrup. Both are under further development and in general, this area is unattractive.

Features
  • Weak Batelco signal
