Anchorage Facts
Depth 15 meters
Bottom Type Sand

A beautiful anchorage and beach even though very close to the Dar es Salaam port.
This is a protected anchorage during the Kusi (South easterly - April to September).
Particularly nice May-July.
It is within a marine reserve with fees payable.
A pilot boat often moors here so stay at least 100m clear of their mooring bouy.
There is often a strong current running around the beach point, particularly during spring tides, but the mooring is generally very safe.
