Anchorage Facts
Depth 15 meters
Bottom Type Sand

Menai Bay is a beautiful area on the South West corner of Zanzibar Island.
This anchorage is safe particularly during the Kusi (SE tradewinds).
Although next to an island, you are not welcome ashore but can at least go on to the beach.
There are a number of sandbanks and coral areas in the bay where you can anchor and snorkel during the day.
be sure to anchor far enough off the sand spit - changing currents will swing the boat at least 180 degrees.
The bottom shelves very quickly so best to anchor in 15m.

Features
  • You can go on the beach but do not try to go on the island without permission
