Bait Reef is a covered reef with no land mass to protect it so it is only feasible in calm weather. Resources say that anything over 15kts would be uncomfortable/unsafe. There are several good park moorings here. Approach is reasonably easy because the bommies have enough space between them for a boat to safely pass into the lagoon as long as one knows how to read the water depths. From the moorings, it is only a short distance to the Stepping Stones- a dive site that is on the bommies that form the western part of the lagoon. We found the dive to just be OK. In fact, there were more large fish under our keel than at the dive site.
