Staits Quay Marina is a small, modern
marina outside of Georgetown on the NE coast of Penang with 40 full
service berths (no haul-out facilities). It is part of a large retail
& residential development and the area is considered very
upscale. The entrance channel and inner basin are prone to silting up
and at this point (2015), the entrance dries at low tide. Facilities
include a boater's lounge, showers, one coin-op laundry machine and
access to many shops & restaurants, 2 grocery stores and easy bus
access to Georgetown's historic area. The marina monitors VHF 71.
