Description (0)
A bustling, friendly marina right in downtown San Sebastian on La Gomera. Easy to approach but since there are frequent ferries entering & leaving, you need to call port control prior to entering the breakwater to the commercial port, use channel 12. Then use the yellow buoyed channel to enter the marina that keeps you away from the breakwater area where ferries maneuver. See picture and more info on marina website. Use Ch 9 to talk to marina. Good docks with finger piers. Good facilities. Easy access to town with many services. Several car rental agencies right on ferry dock. The Atlantic Challenge rowing race starts from here every 2 years in December and ends in Antigua. La Gomera offers great hiking opportunities and a good glimpse at Canary Island life. Tourist office is next to the church in town up the main pedestrian street. They provide a good hiking map. Bus service is limited but works well just the same.
