While there are lots of places to anchor around Norman's Cay, most of the boats anchor off the crescent shaped beach on the west side of the cay, near the airstrip. The beach is beautiful and the water even prettier. Mac Duff's Restaurant and cottages serves food although it is a little pricey! Norman's is going through some major development, of which a marina is in progress so the south end of the island is torn up. A sand road runs past the airstrip, close to the beach and you can walk this road all the way up & around the north part of the island. We did this twice and saw virtually no one besides other walkers. There are a handful of houses near the north end but all is quiet and there are plenty more lots if you decide to swallow the anchor here. You can also proceed to the east side of Norman's past Channel Cay although we didn't do this and the construction had rendered this area less attractive than the west side. Lastly, the charts (Navionics) indicate shoals on approach to Norman's from either side of Norman's Spit but we had enough water at low tide to come in from the south at low tide and out on the north side of the spit from the anchorage an hour after high tide. Least depth seen 7 feet at low tide.
