It would take forever to try to write about all there is to do in Georgetown but there is a good website- the Bahamas Cruisers Guide as well as an 8am VHF radio net on CH72 each morning that can help you get oriented. While most cruisers end up anchoring over at Stocking Island for the most part, it is easy to put your anchor down near Regatta Point in great holding sand to do errands or get protection from west winds and its nice. You can go in as far as your depth allows. The water between Stocking Island and this anchorage is pretty clear of hazards but when moving around in Georgetown harbor is is good to pay close attention! There is tons of space, be sure to be out of the ferry channel as well as the approach to Exuma Docking Services. Dinghy dock is under the bridge in "The Pond". Ashore is the best reprovisioning and entertainment area in all of the Bahamas probably with many services and a great cruiser social scene with famous hangouts such as the Two Turtles Inn, the Peace & Plenty Hotel and the Chat 'n Chill on Stocking Island as well as many other local establishments.
