Anchorage Facts
Depth meters
Bottom Type Clay

Just inside Beaufort Inlet and with plenty of room to anchor, this spot in front of the Coast Guard station is out of the mainstream current. Good holding in sand. Since the anchorage in front of Beaufort town is always so full, this is an alternative.  Fort Macon State Park borders the anchorage. We headed to the beach, anchored the dinghy off since pulling it up on the beach is not allowed, and toured the park.

Features
  • Beachfront at the park
  • Trails in the park, one runs along the anchorage
