Maumere lies on the northeastern coast of Flores Island, and is the
second biggest city of the East Nusa Tenggara province. As a main centre
this is a good opportunity to reprovision at Roxy which sells a good
range of western foods. There is also an airport for any crew changes. A
majority of the population are Catholic. Maumere is also a place to use
as a base to explore the surrounding district.
