This is a beautiful, peaceful anchorage in a very protected bay. Holding is good in firm sand, in about 35 feet. Surrounded by rocky, sloping, beach. At low tide, water is deep right up to outer edge of exposed beach. Dinghy in to inner Whangaparapara harbor for best shore access. Great Barrier Lodge has meals & internet. Trash disposal ashore and many trailheads.
