Anchorage Facts
Depth meters
Bottom Type Sand

This is a good anchorage in prevailing E to SE wind but expect some swell to still reach in. Anchor in approximately 25 feet of black sand, good holding. We arranged to climb Mt Marum from the village here. An uphill hike through varied terrain on a well maintained trail took us through the forest to the ash plain and then the top of the volcano, but because there were clouds at the top, we could barely see the orange molten lava center that this hike is known for. Plan to do the hike on a clear day for the best views. There's a dirt road/path that runs along shore that makes for easy, level walking too. If you're looking for wood or stone carvings, it would be possible to find them here. We didn't notice any snorkeling spots.
