When Lamen Bay was full of cruising boats and there was a significant swell rolling in from the South, several boats anchored in this black sand bay as an alternative. Gently sloping bottom. Choose your depth as you proceed toward beach. We anchored in 30 feet. Quiet, friendly village ashore with access to road that runs length of island. Nice walking/biking. There is a bank and also a produce market that runs every 2 weeks on Fridays. Good protection from prevailing wind. We still experienced a roll from a southerly swell but it was thought to be less than Lamen Bay. At night, you can see the orange glow of the volcano on Ambrym or possibly the smaller islands just north of Epi.

Features
  • Produce Market on select days (infrequent)
