A pleasant bay with good protection from prevailing winds. When a southerly swell was running though, it was coming into the anchorage causing an uncomfortable roll. Anchor in 20-25 feet in black sand. There are coral heads closer to shore as well as on the NE side of the harbor. Neat & tidy town ashore with friendly people, 2 schools, a few small stores, a produce market on selected days. There is a guest lodge that can provide meals with advance notice. There are numerous turtles in this harbor and it is also a favorite of dugongs. The guest lodge can dispose of trash. The snorkeling on the southern end of the anchorage is worth doing. We found some interesting things. A pod of dolphin also came in for a visit. We were told by a local that dugongs also visit Lamen Island and that it was OK to snorkel there but we found mediocre coral and no dugongs. :(
