Puerto del Rosario is the capital of Fuerteventura and it isn't your typical tourist town. Actually, there isn't a lot to do here but it is nonetheless a pleasant place to stop along the coast and the city has tried very hard to make it nice. The anchorage is well protected in NW-NE winds. There are a few local boats on moorings close in but still plenty of room to anchor. There's a ramp for the sailing club right in the anchorage to pull the dinghy up onto. Close by is a tourist office with info on a walking tour of the town. There is a promenade that runs south and all around the city are murals, statues and works of art. There is a small pedestrianized street, a shopping mall with a very large Hyperdino and plenty of restaurants. The crescent shaped beach right next to the anchorage is surprisingly nice too. Approach is easy and holding is good in sand.
