Anchorage Facts

Bottom Type Sand

Kuto is the most popular anchorage at the Isle of Pines and for good reason. It is very well protected from prevailing winds all the way through to NW winds. In strong westerlies, Kunamera Bay right around the corner provides good shelter. Anchor in about 10-20 feet white sand. There is a long & beautiful white sand beach, a resort that provides internet cards at a reasonable price, rubbish disposal and 2 small groceries within walking distance. There are several trails for walking. Pull the dinghy up on the beach as tying up to the wharf is not allowed. There is a produce market in the town of Vao (7km away) on Wed & Sat. It is a pleasant walk or bike ride or you can take a cab.

Features
  • From the resort
  • Two small grocery stores within walking distance
