Anchorage Facts
Depth 10 meters
Bottom Type Sand

Anchor in approx 35' in black sand bottom with small rocks. Relatively good protection from prevailing wind but this is a swelly anchorage so expect to be moving. It is the base to scuba dive North Wall. There's a dirt road that comes down to the beach. Villagers very welcoming and friendly & there is good walking ashore once you figure out how to best land the dinghy on the steep-to beach! Plan to visit the village chief, Carlo, before diving the wall. This can be challenging because his village is up on a hill quite a distance from the anchorage. In 2014, some villagers we met on the beach texted him to let him know we were here. He first asked for 2,500VT per diver, which we declined to pay as you do this dive entirely on your own and then we negotiated down to 500VT/diver.

Features
  • There are some dirt roads on the island that we walked on
