This is an absolutely beautiful wall/steep slope dive packed with life & color. Lots of boulders full of interesting growth. Great for nudibranchs, especially Banana Dorid Nudibranchs & varied fish. Numerous cowries tucked into crevices on wall. Easy to anchor dinghy in 25 feet on boulder shelf with wall adjacent but expect a fair amount of rolling swell. We noted a mild/moderate current that nearly disappeared at depth. We also noted that the surface current varied depending on where on the boulder shelf we put the dinghy since the drop-off has a curve in it that you can't see from the surface. If you find that the current is very strong at first, try moving toward the island a few feet while staying on the shallow shelf and you might note less current. Water clarity very good. Depth 30-100 feet. Plan to visit the village chief, Carlo, before diving the wall. This can be challenging because his village is up on a hill quite a distance from the anchorage. In 2014, some villagers we met on the beach texted him to let him know we were here. He first asked for 2,500VT per diver, which we declined to pay as you do this dive entirely on your own and then we negotiated down to 500VT/diver. Regardless of a fee, this dive is worth it.

Features
  • Noted at surface, barely noticeable at depth
