Coaster's Retreat is a lovely, small bay that includes the area of the Basin, part of Kuring-gai Chase National Park. There are numerous moorings here and we're told (and experienced) that it is OK to pick up a vacant one especially on weekdays when things are quiet. There are park facilities ashore including pretty grounds, a shark fenced swimming area (the Basin), access to trails, a walk-in campground and restrooms. There is a small day use fee for using this area. Kangaroos call these park grounds home as do plenty of kookaburras.
