Porto-Vecchio is a large gulf on the east side of Corsica. In it are several coves and opportunities for anchoring. We like the one at the head of the harbor best as it was close to town and the holding pretty good. From Pointe d'Arena, we followed the buoyed channel in before bearing off to the anchorage. We pulled the dinghy up on the beach to the right of the marina.
Ashore there is an attractive old city and there is bus service to Bonafacio from the main street in the front of the marina.
