Description
 (1)

The island that forms the port hand side of the breakwater upon entry to the area of Faro & Olhao is Ilha Barreta but on tourist info it is called Deserta. Either way, it is a nice place and part of the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. You can anchor nearby or take the dinghy in and pull it up on the beach. There is a restaurant, a boardwalk trail and of course the ocean side beach and breakwater. Tours & ferries accessing this park are Faro's most popular tourist attraction.
