As far as we know there are still no commercial scuba shops on South Caicos. But this area is known for great diving and the water clarity is excellent. In Cockburn Town there is a marine research school that maintains mooring buoys near the drop-off on the eastern side of Long Cay as well as along S. Caicos. We did 2 dives on our own using one of the moorings a short ways around the corner outside the anchorage along the eastern side of Long Cay. The mooring was about a 5 minute swim from the drop-off at about 35 feet depth. The drop-off is at 60 feet depth and so overall this is a deep dive at about 70-80 feet. But it was beautiful and we saw a nurse shark, eagle rays, good sized fish and a school of jack.
