Situated on the northernmost of three little rock islets in front of Staniel Cay, Thunderball Cave was so named after it starred in the James Bond movie of the same name as well as a couple others such as Splash and Never Say Never Again. It is a great cave to swim into with lots of fish and a pretty central opening. It is best to go at slack tide when you barely have to hold your breath to get inside but you can also go when the current is running through it, if you are a strong swimmer. At these times, you'll most likely need to swim in holding your breath but it is pretty easy to see when you can come up for air. Anchor your dinghy in sand on the western side. It is unlikely you'll be alone here.
