This is a popular anchorage off of Kingfisher Bay Resort. It is protected in prevailing SE-E winds. Expect a fair amount of current and beware of rapid shoaling near shore. Yachts anchor on both sides of the wharf but there is an underwater cable on the southern side with a yellow sign on shore to remind you. The ferry is busy day and night transporting guests on & off the island. Kingfisher Bay welcomes yachties. You can eat in their restaurants, rent 4x4 vehicles to tour the island or schedule organized tours. They have walking trails, a picnic area and the beach is easy to walk on at low tide. You can reach Lake McKenzie & Central Station on a long day hike. There is a general store/gift shoppe and other facilities, not to mention, beautiful grounds. Land by pulling your dinghy up on the beach. The resort is fenced in from dingoes so don't be surprised to have to go through a gate to get inside the compound.
