We went to this spot looking for access
to hiking trails. There is a marked channel up in to the creek which
the ferry uses and ashore there is a parking lot with a steep ramp
for the ferry & bathrooms with a water hose. We anchored in 20
feet just outside the channel marks with great holding but there is a
lot of current. The ferry stops at sunset. The shore & creek are
mangroves with associated deep mud flats at low tide making landing
the dinghy interesting. If you're willing to endure this, you can
wash your feet in the hose next to the bathrooms and take a walk. If
you walk 30 minutes out on the 4x4 sand road, there is a trailhead on
the left side with signs & maps. Central Station & Lake
McKenzie can be reached from this trailhead. There are no-see-ums
here. The scenery around this area is not the greatest although it
improves once you get to the trailhead. If you use this waypoint, please note that is approximate- just watch your depth sounder as you approach the shoreline.
