This dive site is right in Nelson Bay almost underneath the courtesy moorings. Primarily a macro dive where you are looking for small things, it can be very rewarding if you are willing to just poke around. The dive is best done around slack high for best visibiity and the least amount of current. We followed the instructions on the DivingNelson Bay website and did see seahorses, blue ringed octopus and lots of other interesting things. We spent most of our time at 30-38 feet. We anchored the dinghy right off the beach and entered the water as per the instructions on the website. Basically, you enter the water from the northeastern side of the beach and swim out to about 25 feet, then head along the shore toward the marina staying in about 30-35 feet, then come back the same way.

Features
  • Best at high tide
