Anchorage Facts

Bottom Type Unknown

Protected from winds coming up the Haro strait, and a deeper anchorage than nearby Puget Cove. Suitable for overnight stays, though not protected from Northerlies. Shoreline access is prohibited, as the islands are Songhees territory and are patrolled by the RCMP and Songhees Tribal Police.

Kayaking is exceptional in the area, but beware of extreme currents when venturing out. At high water, there are many hidden waterways to explore - some of which feel more like a subalpine mountain lake than a part of the ocean.
