Ilot Amedee is approx 12 miles from Noumea and is part of the Southern Province Reserve. There are park moorings for pick-up & in 2014, they were in great condition. Amedee light is the tallest lighthouse in New Caledonia and supposedly you can climb it, however it was not open when we were there. A popular place for day-trip boats from Noumea, the little island can get quite crowded during the day. There are a few paths to walk on, a pretty white sand beach, swimming is nice in the anchorage, but the snorkeling was not too impressive.
