This anchorage is on the west side of Ile Ouen and is an easy approach except for one marked reef called Recif Ila. It has good protection from NE through SE and this waypoint is in approx 15 feet brown sand with good holding off a sandy beach. Ashore, there is a defunct resort, the remains of an old wharf, an overgrown airport runway and scarred hillsides from a previous jade mine. If you feel inclined, you can walk to the other end of the runway and find a trail up to the cell phone tower for good views. This is a very quiet island and it would appear it's had its heyday, but it is a good anchorage and stopover point.
