Las Illetas are a group of small islands just north of Puerto Portals. Because you can anchor on different sides of them, you can find protection from most winds although strong southerlies would still be a problem. We anchored in the largest, most protected anchorage in good holding sand and a beach to pull the dinghy up on to for heading in to town. Bendinat is an upscale town with a small but well stocked grocery store, health care opportunities such as dermatology and there are a few really good chandleries in the Puerto Portals marina area not far away. Parts of this area were previously a military base but this is long gone and now the area has several paths leading through it This includes the island of Illeta.

Features
  • There is a walking/biking path along the main road
