Ao Labu is on the island of Koh Yao Yai
and is a good place to go if you're looking for peace & quiet.
Holding is good in sand. Since this is a relatively shallow bay,
you'll find yourself anchored quite a ways from shore in order to
have enough water at low tide. There were a few moorings but they
were too shallow and didn't have pennants. There is good protection
from the NE. The beach is backed by casuarina pines and is very low
key. There is good walking on either the quiet paved road or even
quieter dirt road that runs south. The dirt road passes by rubber
plantation trees, woods and eventually, a small village. There is a river on the western side of the anchorage that could be explored.
