Patong Beach is the center for nightlife and tourism on Phuket. Known as a wild party place, it attracts all types. The health clinic advertises that they specialize in VD and it would appear there could be some risk here. Approach into the bay is wide open and easy and you can anchor wherever you choose on a gradual sandy slope. On the south end, there is a jetty that is used by ferries and is very busy. Don't block their path! On the north end of the bay, there are some rocky areas of the beach, the holding is still great and there is less boat traffic. In between, there are buoyed swim areas, jet skis and watertoys around. Ashore there are all kinds of restaurants, bars, massage parlors, Phukets largest mall, fruit stalls and transportation options. There is also a promenade that follows the shore.
