Description (0)
There are a few more park moorings
north of the ones right at the Emerald Cave entrance and these offer
a beautiful landscape and some interesting snorkeling if you like
nudibranchs! Any of the moorings along this island require NE monsoon
conditions/calms. The cliff walls that run along the shore have
numerous caves, indentations and under water, there are bits of soft
corals, rocks with growth, sandy patches and perfect conditions for a
variety of nudibranchs. We saw no less then a dozen different species
and over 50 total on a couple of hour swim. You can expect current
flow at the mooring, especially the one at the tip of the northern
part of the island however along the rock edge, we noticed virtually
none. Midway, down the shore, there is a small cove with a little
sandy beach where you can anchor in sand if the moorings are full.
Features
-
There are park moorings to pick up (meant for yachts) so it is easy
-
There is current in the mooring field but not much along the cliff wall where the snorkeling is.
