Description (0)
When anchored at Hog Harbor during light, SE conditions, we dinghied to Elephant Island (approx 2 3/4nm each way) to find a good scuba dive. Circling the island in dinghies and intermittently poking our heads in the water with masks on, we found that most of the island had a gentle sloped bottom rather than the wall dive that we were looking for until we came to this waypoint. The waypoint is set on a beautiful shelf that's perfect for anchoring the dinghy & is very close to a nice section of wall with a significant variety of coral formations. We couldn't find much for critters, pelagics or schooling fish but the coral was interesting and the visibility was excellent with no noticeable current. We did time both dives around high tide.
