This large, wide, beach, right in Portimao is a good example of the emblematic rock formations characteristic of the area. While not as deserted as one might like, it is very pretty and accessible with both a boardwalk running a long length of it on the beach level and another promenade going the same distance up higher on the cliffs. There are lots of restaurants to enjoy the view. At the end of the promenade there is a nature path that goes out very close along the cliffs to closer views of the formations. It is signposted and there are wooden steps heading up. At one point a platform sticks out where you can look way down into a sinkhole.
