This anchorage is on the west side of
Sabibi Island and is OK in the SE monsoon. It is protected by the
island itself as well as a reef that forms the western side of the
anchorage. Approach from the NW and you'll easily see the deep
entrance channel if you have decent sunlight as the reef edges are
easy to see. Once inside, choose your spot carefully as the basin has
lots of coral in the shallower spots and you won't want to damage it
or get your anchor caught in it. If you stay in the center, the depth
will be approx 70 feet. There are some sandy spots along the edge in sand. There is really only room for about 4 boats in here.
Rolling from ocean swell is possible. Even though there isn't a
village here, the reef is well fished and locals arrived selling
trinkets and then spent the night on their boat in the anchorage!
There is a white sand beach accessible at high tide. Monkeys use the
beach to forage for food. There is fairly good snorkeling right in
the anchorage.
