Sora Lia Bay is surrounded by a circle
of high mountains on Komodo Island making for some spectacular
scenery. The western side has Komodo village and the Loh Liang Ranger
Station for Komodo National Park and the eastern side makes for a
quiet anchorage. With a decent dinghy, the pink beach is just a few
minutes away.
Be careful when heading in as there is
a shoal a ways off the point of Toro Kalenta and the charts aren't
very good for this area. In good light, you can see the shoal. Also,
beyond this waypoint closer to shore there is a reef that runs along
the beach so depths shoal abruptly. Holding is excellent in hard
sand. Pigs were brousing the beach for food the whole time we were
there. This anchorage was very calm and peaceful in the SE monsoon.

If you visit the Loh Liang ranger station, there is hiking there (guide needed) as part of Komodo Nat'l Park
